Early in my career, I forgot my entire cable bag and was too far from home to get it. Found a RadioShack nearby, bought parts and a soldering iron, and the staff let me assemble speaker cables right there in the store. Delayed the event by only 30 minutes — and gave them an extra 30 on the backend. I still have those cables as a memento and a warning: never forget the cable bag.

When the power went out mid-party, the whole crowd started singing “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” a cappella until the end — and right as they finished, the power came back on and I dropped the next track perfectly in sync with their vocals.
