Luckily, there was a Radio Shack nearby so I went in there, purchased the pieces, a soldering iron and the staff allowed me assemble the speaker cables right there in their store. I only delayed the event by 30 minutes but gave them an extra 30 on the backend. I still have those cables as memento and warning to never forget the cable bag. I was so embarrassed, I ducked below the level of the DJ booth as to avoid eye contact with all 200 guests. FML!

Favorite DJ(s): Me, Skratch Bastid, Jazzy Jeff, Nu-Mark, Four Color Zack, Miles Medina Favorite Music Artists: This is like asking someone who their favorite kid is. The only one I can definitively say stays on that list is Stevie Wonder. First Record Purchase: That’s not as interesting as my first cassette purchases, which were all 80s hair bands and 90s rap. Quite a mixture, and I’m still as eclectic and whimsical. Favorite Summer Jam: Anything Bob Marley, and maybe even Sublime Funny Moment DJ’ng: When the power went out, and the whole party sung out “ain’t no mountain high enough” til the end when the power came back perfectly, and I mixed in the next song to their vocals. Most Hated Song Request: I don’t hate any song requests, I only dislike when people are rude about it. Universal Party Jam: I don’t think Earth, Wind and Fire - September has ever failed in the history of being played. DJ Methodology: IDK what this means lol DJ Macgyver Moment: That would be the whole month I spent DJ’n on a cruise ship when we played above deck fighting the elements of wind, water and rough seas. More specifically though, the wind ripped my record off and tossed it in the wind, and I caught it on the way down and fanned myself with it. Break In Case Of Emergency Song: Juvenile - Back Dat Azz Up has also never failed. Favorite Podcast: Monday Morning Podcast with Bill Burr Drink of Choice: Cold brew coffee Guilty Pleasure Music: 90s Grunge Go To Karaoke Song: Tom Petty - Free Fallin Most embarrassing moment DJ’ng: When the wedding planner gave me the timeline with all pertinent info, before they had revised everything, so all the wedding parties were announced out of order. DJ Macgyver Moment: Realizing I had the wrong version of a song needed for the first dance 1 minute before I had to play it. I could only find it on YouTube, and was able to play it through the mixer seamlessly and without a hitch. Thank god for YouTube Premium (no ads). Now I send the final song list to the couples at least a week before each event.
